About the firm

Five partners, one office, no call centre.

We have stayed deliberately small. It means the person you meet at the first appointment is the person who reads the file at ten past six on a Friday.

How we work

We would rather turn work away than do it badly.

Harriet & Ashworth started in 1994 with two solicitors and a shared kettle. We have grown to five partners and fourteen staff, and we still work out of one building on Castle Street because being in the same corridor is how work gets checked properly.

Every file has a named solicitor and a named assistant. You get both direct dial numbers on day one. If your solicitor is in court, the assistant already knows where your matter has got to.

We do not take work outside our six practice areas. When something lands on the desk that belongs with a specialist, we will tell you who to ring instead, and we will not charge you for the conversation.
