Services

What we handle, and what it costs.

Six practice areas. Each one has a partner responsible for it, and each one comes with a written estimate before any work starts.

01

Wills, trusts and probate

The work we are best known for, and the reason most families first ring us.

Fixed fee on every will, LPA and standard probate matter.

  • Single wills and mirror wills for couples, drafted after a proper conversation about the family, not from a form
  • Lasting powers of attorney for property and finances, and for health and welfare
  • Estate administration, from grant only applications to full administration including property sales
  • Trusts for children, disabled beneficiaries and second marriages
  • Deeds of variation within two years of a death
02

Residential property

Sales, purchases and everything that goes sideways in between.

Quoted as a fixed fee with disbursements listed separately. No completion, no fee on aborted sales.

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases across Bristol, Bath and North Somerset
  • Help to Buy redemptions, shared ownership and new build reservations
  • Transfers of equity, adding or removing a name after separation or remarriage
  • Lease extensions and freehold purchases for flat owners
  • Declarations of trust where friends or family buy together
03

Employment

For employees on the wrong end of a process, and for employers trying to run one properly.

Settlement agreement reviews are usually paid for by your employer. Everything else is hourly or capped by stage.

  • Settlement agreements, usually reviewed and signed off within two working days
  • Grievances, disciplinaries and appeals, including drafting your written response
  • Unfair dismissal and discrimination claims through ACAS early conciliation and tribunal
  • Contracts, handbooks and restrictive covenants for small employers
  • Redundancy consultation where fewer than twenty roles are affected
04

Family

Calm advice at a point when very little else feels calm.

Hourly, with a written estimate for each stage so nothing arrives as a surprise.

  • Divorce and dissolution under the no fault procedure
  • Financial settlements, pension sharing and consent orders
  • Child arrangements, including relocation and grandparent contact
  • Cohabitation agreements and pre nuptial agreements
  • Referrals to local mediators before any application is issued
05

Commercial and company

For owner managed businesses that have outgrown template documents.

Fixed fee for defined pieces of work. Larger transactions are quoted with a cap agreed up front.

  • Shareholders' agreements and articles, including exit and deadlock provisions
  • Business sales and purchases up to around five million pounds
  • Commercial leases, rent reviews and lease renewals for landlords and tenants
  • Supply, distribution and consultancy contracts
  • Company restructures, share transfers and director disputes
06

Disputes

We take on disputes where the commercial answer and the legal answer line up.

We give an honest view on cost against likely recovery before you commit a penny.

  • Boundary, right of way and party wall disputes
  • Contested wills and Inheritance Act claims
  • Commercial debt recovery and breach of contract claims
  • Professional negligence claims against other advisers
  • Landlord and tenant possession proceedings

Every matter is quoted individually.

We do not publish a price list, because a will for a blended family and a will for a single person with one bank account are not the same job. Tell us the situation and we will send a tailored quote in writing, usually the same day.
